Sarti Spritz

A vibrant Italian aperitivo with bittersweet citrus, sparkling Prosecco and a refreshing splash of soda.

There is something wonderfully Italian about the ritual of an aperitivo. A little time at the end of the day to sit outside, catch up with friends and enjoy something chilled before dinner. The Sarti Spritz is made for exactly that moment.

Bright, refreshing and beautifully coloured, this Italian spritz combines Sarti Rosa with sparkling Prosecco and soda water, finished with plenty of ice and a slice of fresh lime. It is wonderfully simple to make and perfect for warm afternoons, summer gatherings or those evenings when you want to bring a little la dolce vita to your own garden.

Makes

1 spritz

Ingredients

  • 60ml Sarti Rosa

  • 90ml chilled Prosecco

  • 30ml soda water

  • Ice cubes

  • 1 fresh lime wheel or orange wedge, to garnish

Method

Fill the glass

Fill a large wine glass or balloon glass generously with ice. Using plenty of ice helps keep the spritz beautifully cold without diluting it too quickly.

Build the spritz

Pour the Sarti Rosa over the ice, followed by the chilled Prosecco. Add the soda water and give everything a very gentle stir, just enough to combine the ingredients while keeping as much of the fizz as possible. If you prefer your drinks a little sweeter, you could switch the soda water for some lemonade!

Garnish and serve

Finish with a fresh slice or wedge of lime. Serve immediately while the drink is cold and sparkling.

A Mia Dolce Vita Touch

An aperitivo is about more than what is in the glass. It is an invitation to pause, gather and enjoy the transition from afternoon into evening.

Serve your Sarti Spritz outdoors if you can, perhaps with a little bowl of olives, salted almonds, focaccia or Italian-inspired nibbles or make our Caponata Crostini with Sicilian Aperitivo. Put some music on, leave the phone somewhere out of reach and let the evening unfold slowly.

For a beautiful summer table, serve the spritz in large glasses filled generously with ice and plenty of fresh citrus. There is no need to wait for a special occasion.

Sometimes the aperitivo is the occasion.
